PORTLAND, Ore.  — May 29, 2003 —  Jubitz Travel Center has been named one of the top 10 truck stops in the world by the Travel Channel. Located in north Portland just off Interstate 5 at exit 307, Jubitz was ranked fifth in the competition and was dubbed "The World’s Classiest Truck Stop." The program, which will be broadcast June 1 at 3 p.m., is part of the Travel Channel’s "World’s Best" series, which rates the world’s best travel destinations and accommodations.

The program profiled each of the winning truck stops—some as far away as Germany and Malaysia—and assigned each a label, such as "World’s Biggest Truck Stop" and "Most Exotic Truck Stop." Characterized as "World’s Classiest," Jubitz was praised for its high-class accommodations and variety of services offered.

"Jubitz is a destination all to itself," said Tom Sanford, publisher of Road Star magazine, in an interview featured on the program. Customers similarly praised Jubitz Travel Center. "The last time we stayed in a room like this was when we got married," stated a couple interviewed on the program. Another customer interviewed said, "If you can’t be at home, you should be at Jubitz."

Two years ago, Jubitz Corporation completed a multi-million dollar renovation and expansion that doubled the capacity of the Portlander Inn hotel, added a banquet room and additional seating to its Cascade Grill restaurant. The Portlander Inn and Marketplace facility has become a favorite destination for local residents as well as for professional drivers. The facility features a 100-room hotel with several Jacuzzi-equipped suites, a 24-hour full-service restaurant, a lounge with live country western music nightly, 85-seat movie theater, gift shop, delicatessen, convenience store, barbershop/hair salon, chiropractor and laundromat.
